Calculating Your ISO Ceiling Board Lengths & Quantities
This guide will show you how easy it is to calculate your ISO Ceiling Board Sizes & Quantites. Your room dimensions will be different but the principle remains the same.
Step 1 - Board & Finish Direction Matters
Before any board sizes or quantities can be calculated.
The owner of the property needs to decide aesthtically which way the finish must go.
This significantly changes the board sizes and quantities.

Finish Look 2:
Boards going across the room from left ro right

Note the direction of our finishes.
The actual pine finish runs down the length of our boards
Let's move forward with Look 2 with the pine finish going across the room from left to right.

Step 2 - Board Length Calculation
Our pine finish goes down the length of our boards.
Our standard board lengths are:
1.8m, 2.1m, 2.4m, 2.7m, 3.0m, 3.3m, 3.6m, 4.0m, 4.2m, 4.8m, 5.4m, 6.0m, 6.6m, 7.2m & 8.0m
In the example the measured length is 4300mm (4.3m)
So the board length ordered will be 4.8m and this will be cut to fit the room (4.3m)
How many boards are required for this room?

Step 3 - Board Quantity Calculation
We know from Step 2 that the boards lengths we need to order are 4.8m in length.
All our boards are 600mm or 0.6m wide.
Now if the length of this room is 5600mm or 5.6m long As seen in the picture then we need to divide this length by 0.6.
So, 5.6m / 0.6m gives 9.33 boards. so 10 boards will be required.
